Explore Aircraft Positions Around the World
The PilotsWife live flight tracker provides an interactive way to explore aircraft positions around the globe. The map uses flight state information made available through the OpenSky Network and displays aircraft for which usable position data is available.
Select an aircraft marker to see available information such as its ICAO24 aircraft identifier, callsign, reported country, altitude, ground speed, direction of travel and vertical rate. Aircraft data is refreshed periodically while the map is open.
The flight map is intended for aviation enthusiasts, students, pilots and people interested in airline and aircraft movements. It is an informational resource and does not replace certified aviation systems or official flight information services.
What information can you see?
- Aircraft positions based on available reported coordinates.
- Aircraft callsigns and ICAO24 identifiers, when supplied.
- Origin country information provided by the data source.
- Reported barometric altitude and ground speed.
- Aircraft direction and vertical rate, when available.
- Whether an aircraft is reported as being on the ground.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Flight Tracker
Useful information about the PilotsWife global aircraft map.
1. How does the PilotsWife live flight tracker work?
The map retrieves publicly available aircraft state-vector information from the OpenSky Network. Aircraft with valid latitude and longitude coordinates are displayed as markers.
2. How often are aircraft positions updated?
The map requests updated information every 30 seconds. The server also caches responses to reduce repeated requests to the data provider.
3. Can I see an aircraft's speed and altitude?
Yes. Select an aircraft marker to see the available information, including reported speed, altitude, heading and vertical rate. Some fields may not be available for every aircraft.
4. Why are some aircraft missing from the map?
Aircraft visibility depends on data availability, receiver coverage, aircraft equipment, data quality and limitations of the source. The map cannot guarantee that every aircraft will be displayed.
5. Is this an official air traffic control radar?
No. This is an informational flight-tracking map using OpenSky Network data. It is not an official air traffic control system and must not be used for navigation or operational flight decisions.
6. Can I use the flight map on a mobile phone?
Yes. The map and the rest of the PilotsWife homepage are designed to work on desktop, tablet and mobile screens.
